RMR Roll-Cast: A Complete, Trailer-Free Fishing Raft Package

The Rocky Mountain Rafts Roll-Cast is a purpose-built 12-foot fishing raft and frame package for anglers who want a stable, capable fishing platform without the storage and transportation demands of a traditional hard-sided boat.

Designed around two anglers, the Roll-Cast combines a lightweight inflatable raft with a custom aluminum frame, removable swivel seats, angled oar towers, and two complete 8-foot RMR oars. Its compact 50-inch width allows it to fit in the bed of many full-size pickup trucks without resting diagonally across the wheel wells.

Use it to row into remote trout water, explore lakes and reservoirs, fish slower-moving rivers, or spend the afternoon casting on a farm pond. Add the separately sold Roll-Cast motor mount and a compatible 2–3 hp long-shaft outboard when you want the option to motor instead of row.

Need help deciding if the Roll-Cast is right for your water, vehicle, or fishing setup? Contact Pro River Outfitters before ordering. We can help you compare options and build the right package.

Why You’ll Love the Roll-Cast

The Roll-Cast gives anglers the major components of a dedicated fishing raft in one coordinated package. Instead of separately choosing a raft, frame, seats, oar towers, oars, and hardware, you receive a purpose-built system designed to work together.

  • Complete fishing raft and frame package
  • Designed for one or two anglers
  • No trailer required for many transportation setups
  • Fits in the bed of many full-size pickup trucks
  • Compatible with appropriately rated roof-rack systems
  • Rows with two included 8-foot RMR oars
  • Compatible with a 2–3 hp long-shaft outboard motor
  • Rigid drop-stitch floor for standing and casting
  • Textured EVA traction surface
  • Two removable padded swivel seats
  • Self-bailing construction
  • West Virginia-built aluminum frame
Fishing Performance & Construction

Stable Standing Platform

The removable 6-inch drop-stitch floor creates a firm platform for standing and casting. A textured EVA pad adds traction while moving around the raft, entering or exiting, and adjusting your fishing position.

Lightweight PVC Construction

The raft is constructed from 33 oz, 2,000-denier lightweight PVC. This material balances durability with a manageable raft weight of approximately 63 pounds.

Welded Construction

The I-beams, baffles, and seams are welded and reinforced with inside-and-outside welded seam tape. The self-bailing floor system allows water entering the raft to drain instead of collecting inside the boat.

Purpose-Built Aluminum Frame

The Roll-Cast frame is built in Fayette County, West Virginia from 6061 Schedule 40 aluminum with 1.25-inch pipe. It was designed specifically for the Roll-Cast rather than adapted from a general-purpose raft frame.

Angled Oar Towers

The angled oar towers position the included 8-foot RMR oars for smooth, controlled rowing. Each complete oar includes the shaft, sleeve, lock, and blade.

Removable Swivel Seats

Two padded swivel seats provide comfortable positioning for rowing and fishing. Both seats can be removed to make transportation, stacking, and storage easier.

Row or Add a Motor

The rear seat can rotate to support a motoring configuration. With the separately sold Roll-Cast motor mount, the raft can accept a compatible 2–3 hp long-shaft outboard motor.

Is the Roll-Cast Right for Me?

The Roll-Cast is a strong choice if you:

  • Want a complete fishing raft instead of building one piece by piece
  • Usually fish alone or with one other angler
  • Want to avoid purchasing, towing, or storing a boat trailer
  • Fish rivers, lakes, streams, reservoirs, or ponds
  • Want the flexibility to row or use a small outboard motor
  • Prefer a rigid floor for standing casts
  • Need a raft that can be disassembled for transportation or storage
  • Travel with a pickup, camper, RV, or properly rated roof rack

Consider another raft if you:

  • Regularly carry more than two anglers
  • Need substantial cargo capacity for extended expeditions
  • Want a permanently assembled boat that remains on a trailer
  • Need a larger raft for several passengers or paddlers
  • Plan to use an outboard larger than the recommended 2–3 hp range
  • Primarily need a raft for demanding technical whitewater

Pro River Outfitters can help you compare the Roll-Cast with larger RMR fishing rafts, rowing packages, and custom frame options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the Roll-Cast designed for?

The Roll-Cast is designed for one or two anglers who want a portable, dedicated fishing platform for rivers, lakes, streams, reservoirs, and ponds. It is especially useful for anglers who want to avoid towing and storing a conventional boat trailer.

Does the Roll-Cast require a trailer?

No. Avoiding the need for a trailer was one of the primary goals behind the Roll-Cast. At 12 feet long and 50 inches wide, it is designed to fit in the bed of many full-size pickup trucks without resting diagonally across the wheel wells.

It can also be transported using certain appropriately rated roof-rack systems or stored inside some campers and RVs. Confirm your vehicle dimensions, roof capacity, rack rating, and tie-down requirements before transport.

Will it fit in my truck bed?

The Roll-Cast is 50 inches wide and was designed to fit between the wheel wells of many full-size pickup trucks. Truck-bed dimensions vary by manufacturer, model, and year, so measure your available space before ordering.

Can it be transported on a roof rack?

It may be transported using a properly installed roof-rack system that is rated for the boat’s weight and dimensions. The raft weighs approximately 63 pounds, while the raft and frame together weigh approximately 125 pounds. Seats, oars, and accessories add more weight.

Can Pro River Outfitters help me confirm transportation options?

Yes. Contact us with your vehicle, bed dimensions, rack specifications, and preferred transport method. We can help you evaluate the setup, but the vehicle and rack manufacturers’ weight limits must always be followed.

Can one person fish from it?

Yes. The Roll-Cast can be rowed and fished solo, although it is designed to accommodate up to two anglers. Equipment should be positioned carefully to maintain proper balance and rowing control.

How stable is it for standing and casting?

The rigid 6-inch drop-stitch floor provides a firm standing surface. A textured EVA pad adds traction while casting and moving around the raft. Current, wind, loading, and passenger movement can still affect stability.

What types of water can I use it on?

The Roll-Cast is designed for fishing on rivers, lakes, streams, reservoirs, and ponds. Its compact profile and self-bailing floor also make it useful in shallow, rocky, and moving-water fishing environments.

Is it intended for technical whitewater?

The Roll-Cast is primarily a fishing platform rather than a technical whitewater raft. Choose water conditions appropriate for your rowing experience, loading, safety equipment, and current conditions.

Contact Pro River Outfitters if you primarily intend to use the boat in demanding whitewater. We can help you determine whether the Roll-Cast or another RMR model is better suited to your needs.

Can I use an outboard motor?

Yes. The rear seat rotates for use with the Roll-Cast motor mount and a compatible 2–3 hp long-shaft outboard. The motor mount and motor are sold separately.

Why does it require a long-shaft motor?

The motor-mount position is designed around a long-shaft outboard so the propeller reaches the intended operating depth. Contact Pro River Outfitters before purchasing a motor if you need help confirming compatibility.

Is the motor mount included?

No. The standard package does not include the motor mount or motor unless the selected product option specifically states otherwise.

Does it come with an anchor system?

The frame includes a rear anchor-system pulley and eye bolt. The anchor and anchor rope are not included and must be selected separately.

Can Pro River Outfitters help me choose an anchor?

Yes. The appropriate anchor and rope depend on the water, current, bottom conditions, and fishing style. Contact us for help assembling an anchor setup for your intended use.

Are the oars included?

Yes. The package includes two complete 8-foot RMR oars. Each oar includes the shaft, sleeve, lock, and blade.

Does the package include a pump?

No. An inflation pump is not included in the standard package. Pro River Outfitters can help you select a compatible electric blower, hand pump, or combination inflation setup.

What else do I need before going on the water?

Your setup may also require an inflation pump, properly fitted personal flotation devices, an anchor and rope, a throw rope, dry storage, cooler, repair supplies, fishing equipment, and any safety equipment required by your location.

Can I remove the frame and seats?

Yes. The aluminum frame and both swivel seats are removable. The package can be disassembled to make transportation, stacking, and off-season storage easier.

How difficult is assembly?

The Roll-Cast was designed for straightforward assembly with minimal tools. The assembly video above demonstrates frame alignment, seat installation, oar-tower placement, and final setup.

Can Pro River Outfitters help with assembly?

Yes. Contact Pro River Outfitters if you need help understanding the assembly process, arranging your frame, selecting accessories, or preparing the raft for its first trip.

Where is the frame made?

The Roll-Cast frame is built in Fayette County, West Virginia using 6061 Schedule 40 aluminum with 1.25-inch pipe.

How durable is the raft?

The raft is constructed from 33 oz, 2,000-denier PVC with welded I-beams, baffles, and seams. The seams are reinforced with inside-and-outside welded seam tape. It also includes stainless steel D-rings and rubberized carry handles.

What happens if the raft is damaged?

A patch kit and valve wrench are included for basic field maintenance. Repair requirements depend on the location and severity of the damage. Contact Pro River Outfitters before attempting a large or structural repair if you are uncertain about the correct process.

What warranty is included?

Retail purchases include a three-year warranty on workmanship and materials. Commercial use carries a one-year warranty. The warranty is non-transferable and subject to Rocky Mountain Rafts’ complete warranty terms.

Why buy the Roll-Cast from Pro River Outfitters?

Pro River Outfitters can help you evaluate the entire setup rather than simply choosing a raft from a product listing. We can assist with frame configuration, oars, pumps, anchor systems, repair supplies, storage, transportation considerations, and other equipment needed for the way you plan to fish.
